The ACCJH supports an interdisciplinary membership concerned with improving the health of justice involved populations. Justice involved persons are at greater risk of death by suicide, homicide, overdose and cardiovascular disease. They are five times more likely to contract Covid-19 infection and to have adverse outcomes. Mass incarceration is deemed by many experts to be a public health crisis in the United States. This series will present contemporary research to mitigate health impacts.
