The management of depression and or anxiety is primarily conducted in the primary care setting. The oversight, to include treat-to-target and treatment intensification has not been as judicial as with other chronic conditions managed in the primary care setting. As a result, the conditions of depression and anxiety are suboptimal in meeting remission. There is a need to review the evidence-based model for these conditions, known as Collaborative Care with practice teams.
