The Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification for Native Communities program provides a foundation with which to understand nicotine dependence, nicotine dependence treatment, and the methods and techniques to deliver evidence-based interventions to American Indian and Alaska Native people who use commercial tobacco. The program provides an opportunity to practice skills recommended by the U.S. Public Health Service Clinical Practice Guideline, Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence.
