About ACLF: FAQs

Who can participate in ACLF?

ACLF is a great orientation for emerging leaders who serve, or who are interested in serving on chapter boards, while chapter presidents, presidents-elect, and chapter executives are strongly encouraged to attend. Many chapters send professional staff to participate in a wide range of sessions.

When should I plan to arrive and leave?

Get the all-out ACLF experience by attending the preconference session on Wednesday, April 24 starting at 1:00 p.m. During the first session on Wednesday, chapter forums will focus on best practices among chapters and include important AAFP updates. Then on Thursday, customize your educational agenda with a variety of governance sessions and chapter staff networking opportunities beginning at 9:00 a.m. The final ACLF breakout sessions end on Saturday, April 27 at 11:00 a.m. to allow attendees to enjoy more time exploring Kansas City.

Is travel reimbursement available?

Currently, there are funds available from the AAFP to reimburse travel expenses for three representatives from each chapter for ACLF or NCCL. Funding is also available from the AAFP to reimburse travel expenses for one new physician delegate from each chapter to attend NCCL. Some chapters will fund additional travel expenses. Contact your chapter to learn more.

Can I earn CAE or CME credit?

The Annual Chapter Leader Forum (ACLF) track fulfills the professional development requirements to earn or maintain the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential. ACLF participants may claim up to 17 credits toward your CAE application or renewal professional development requirements.

In addition, by attending any of the breakout sessions, you may claim Enrichment CME credit on an hour-for-hour basis.

What can I expect from ACLF?

ACLF encourages participants to make connections and share ideas, learn new strategies and techniques to succeed, and engage in important dialogue about chapters.

What should I bring?

Bring your laptop, tablet, smartphone, and printed handouts (if you want them). Handouts are available online and in the mobile app in mid-April.

What is the dress code?

Business casual for the sessions, and casual for the Meet and Greet, and Welcome Reception.
