Annual Leadership Conference Information
The Annual Leadership Conference for Current and Aspiring Leaders features two dynamic tracks. The Annual Chapter Leader Forum (ACLF) is the AAFP’s leadership program for chapter-elected leaders, aspiring leaders and chapter staff. The second track, the National Conference of Constituency Leaders (NCCL) is the AAFP’s leadership and policy development event for underrepresented constituencies, including women, minorities, new physicians, international medical graduates, and gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) physicians.
More than 400 leaders in family medicine are expected to attend. Breakout session attendance ranges from 20 to 40 people and topics focus on governance, advocacy, and communications. Chapter staff in attendance includes chapter executives, who may or may not have support staff (which could include membership, communications, education/events, and advocacy specialists). Chapter-elected leadership includes presidents, president-elect, other board members, and those interested in pursuing a leadership position.
AAFP will make hotel reservations for you at the conference hotel if specified in your contract. Reservation numbers will be provided to all speakers in April.

Speaker Airfare Reservations
Flight reservations should be made through Travellers, Inc. by contacting John Novotny at (785) 856-1641or email@example.com. This option directly bills AAFP.
If you prefer to make your own flight reservations (economy only), airfare must be purchased at least 30 days in advance and an itinerary provided to Marci McNeal at firstname.lastname@example.org. Airfare will be reimbursed with final expenses starting May 1.
We encourage speakers to wear business professional attire.
Audio Visual Equipment
All breakout session rooms will be equipped with wireless internet, an LCD projector and screen, wireless remote, laptop, and a podium with microphone. Additional needs should be specified on your speaker registration form.
Conference Speaker Presentation PowerPoint Template
The AAFP PowerPoint template(3 page PPTX) (16:9 slide ratio for widescreen format) should be used for presentations unless otherwise approved by conference contacts. We ask speakers to avoid paper handouts unless essential to your session (speaker is responsible for printing).
A table will be available in the exhibit area (Ballroom Foyer) for speakers to sell books and offer signings to attendees of the conference. Since breakout sessions are scheduled back to back, there isn’t enough time for speakers to do this in session rooms. Participation is voluntary. You will be responsible for all money collection through the payment methods of your choice. You will also determine the amount of time you would like to be available during conference hours at the speaker table.
Social media is being used to promote conference information, facilitate discussions, and generate excitement about the conference. Presenters are strongly encouraged to interact with attendees using the hashtag #aafpLEAD to help increase attendance and engagement in their session(s). We do request that you refrain from using these mediums to promote your company or products.
