Congress of Delegates

Saturday, October 3–Sunday, October 4 | Reference Committees (Virtual)
Sunday, October 11–Tuesday, October 13 | Congress of Delegates (Virtual)

The Congress of Delegates (CoD) is the Academy’s policy-making body. Its membership consists of two delegates from each constituent chapter. Member constituencies include new physicians, residents, students, and other constituency groups represented at the National Conference of Constituency Leaders.

The Congress elects new officers and three members to serve on the Board of Directors for the following 12 months. AAFP members are welcome to participate in hearings of the five reference committees: Advocacy, Education, Health of the Public and Science, Organization and Finance, and Practice Enhancement.

Out of consideration for our attendees health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Congress of Delegates will be held virtually. To enhance the efficiency of a virtual meeting of the COD, the reference committee hearings will be held in advance on October 3-4. The remainder of all Congress business including addresses from AAFP officers, reference committee reports, reports from the Board of Directors and commissions, candidate activities, and elections will occur October 11-13.
