Dr. Botsford earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, and completed a family medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine/Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, Houston. She earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business after graduating from residency. During her eight years in practice, she has been in both employed practice and academics. Currently, she works as faculty in a community-based, unopposed, suburban residency program that is part of Memorial Hermann Health System, the largest not-for-profit health system in Southeast Texas. She has been recognized for her teaching by the Texas Medical Association, receiving Silver-Level Recognition in 2016. In her role as a medical director, she is involved in projects related to quality, registries, electronic health record (EHR) optimization, and population health. She received her certification from the American Board of Medical Quality (ABMQ) in 2017. Dr. Botsford has been active within organized medicine at both the state and national levels. She was a member of the AAFP Commission on Quality and Practice from 2014-2018, serving as chair in 2018. In 2017, she was appointed to the National Quality Forum’s Primary Care and Chronic Illness Standing Committee.
