Holcomb earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2006. She has more than 12 years of experience working with adult and pediatric cochlear implants. She is vice chair of the board of directors for the American Cochlear Implant Alliance and is a faculty member for the Institute for Cochlear Implant Training Audiology Course. In addition, she is on the Audiology Advisory Council for Advanced Bionics and previously served as a consultant for Med-EL and Cochlear Americas. The current president of the South Carolina Academy of Audiology, she also represents South Carolina on the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Audiology Advisory Council.
