Practice-Change Workshop (PCW) is a multifaceted educational format, specifically designed to help physicians implement practice changes. PCW’s consist of multiple educational interventions, including interactive lecture, problem-based learning (PBL), and facilitated Translation to Practice®. The educational interventions are divided into two segments. The first segment occurs on-site at FMX, and the second segment occurs online after FMX, back in the practice setting.
The on-site segment is 2 hours and 15 minutes, including an interactive lecture (approximately 45 minutes, and a small-group experiential workshop (approximately 90 minutes). The workshop includes simulated case-style discussion, peer-to-peer learning, and faculty feedback that allow learners to incorporate newly learned knowledge with prior experiences, improving application of course content through group interaction and practice. By attending the PCW, attendees agree to engage as a cohort to try out new knowledge with feedback from peers and expert faculty; identify a practice change; discuss implementation strategies; and begin the facilitated t2p® process.
