Electrosurgery and Cryosurgery

The cryosurgery and electrosurgery workshop will improve the knowledge and skills of the participants on the use of cryosurgery and electrosurgery for benign and malignant skin tumors. There will be at least one hour of hands-on time to practice with multiple electrosurgical and cryosurgical devices.

Note: This workshop will be taught using animal products (i.e., pig feet, pork shoulder, chicken).

From attending this session, you will be able to:

  • Practice electrosurgery and cryosurgery techniques.
  • Explore electrosurgery and cryosurgery as methods for destroying benign and malignant lesions, controlling bleeding, or cutting/excising tissue.
  • Evaluate the uses, risks, benefits and complications of both electrosurgery and cryosurgery.
  • Assess education and training you may need to competently perform electrosurgery and/or cryosurgery procedures.
