Learn how to provide an interactive learning experience for Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO®) Provider course participants in order to assist them in obtaining the knowledge and skills needed to effectively manage potential emergencies during pregnancy. Current ALSO Provider status as of October 8, 2018, is required to attend this course. Approved for up to 6.5 AAFP Prescribed credits.
You do not need to be registered for AAFP FMX in order to attend this course.

A NEW one-day course format is available for Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO®). This newly evolved course is an evidence-based interprofessional training program that prepares members of the entire maternity care team to better manage obstetric emergencies through teaching standardized approaches to care. Successful completion of required online course elements is mandatory prior to attending the course. Approved for up to 8.75 AAFP Prescribed credits.

Receive hands-on training for Nexplanon insertion, removal procedures, and implant localization techniques during this two-hour training session. Participants who complete the session will be eligible to order Nexplanon from authorized distributor(s). Certificates of attendance will be issued for those attending the entire session. Nexplanon Training is NOT available for CME credit.

Stop the Bleed is a program intended to cultivate a grassroots effort to encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. This session will teach you how to conduct "train the trainer" workshops. Upon completion of the session, you will receive a certificate of acknowledgement stating your approval to conduct Stop the Bleed sessions in your community. Stop the Bleed training is NOT available for CME credit.
