Community Service Activity

Tuesday, October 9 | 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Price: $40 per person

New Orleans has flourished in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, but there is much work to be done with environmental sustainability, neighborhood revitalization, and education for the city to continue to thrive.

Help ensure the AAFP leaves a lasting impact on the FMX host city through various community service activities in the unique and historic Central City neighborhood, close to downtown.

Depending on immediate community needs and number of volunteers, FMX attendees will make a difference through various project types, including:

  • Education: School and playground beautification, classroom and library organization, mural painting, etc.
  • Housing and Homelessness: Home rebuilding and reconstruction, vacant lot clearing, homeless shelter assistance, etc.
  • Neighborhood Revitalization: Park beautification and planting, storm drain clearing, neighborhood flyering and surveying, etc.
  • Environmental Sustainability: Urban garden work, wetlands restoration and planning, conservation and disaster management projects, etc.
NOLA Tricentennial - 3000,000 for the NEXT 300

In conjunction with the 300th anniversary of New Orleans, there is a city-wide initiative to capture 300,000 volunteer hours throughout 2018 to represent the Tricentennial. All volunteer work for this event will count toward the overall goal!

Let’s work together to contribute to the revitalization of New Orleans, its neighborhoods, and its residents.

Continental breakfast, box lunch, and t-shirt are included. Select this activity during the online registration process.
