• Subscription Terms and Policies

    • All subscriptions, including site licenses, are for a stated number of issues (1 year) and start with the next available issue after receipt of payment.
    • Once payment is received, subscriber gets immediate online access to all of the previous year’s restricted content. When a subscription expires or is terminated, access becomes limited to only those issues that are available to the general public.
    • GUARANTEE: If a subscription is terminated prior to expire, a refund will be made for all unfulfilled issues upon request. Please allow up to four weeks for delivery of refund.
    • Interlibrary Loan - Licensee may supply single copies of articles from American Family Physician and FPM to authorized users of another library by post, facsimile, or digital transmission to fulfill requests for Interlibrary Loan ("ILL"), provided such use is in accordance with applicable copyright law and Licensee's ILL procedures.
    • Get details on copyright and authorized use for AFP and for FPM.
    • Subscription will start with next available issue at time of payment. "Grace period" online access for online subscribers is not available. (Prior issues are still available for purchase.)
    • Pro-rated refunds will be issued for cancelled print subscriptions; credits are no longer available. 

    Autorenewing Subscriptions

    • Your subscription will continue to renew on an annual basis, without interruption, until you cancel.
    • You may cancel your subscription at any time by going to My Account or by calling toll-free 800-274-2237 or emailing aafp@aafp.org. Canceling at My Account is immediate. Please allow 48 hours for your cancellation to process if you cancel by phone or email.
    • Your credit card will be automatically charged in advance of the end of your annual subscription term at the then-current rate, which may be higher than the current rate or any promotional offer you may have received.
    • You will receive an email reminder 40 days prior to renewal, to the email address on your account, that will include the subscription rate then in effect and information on how to update your account, payment method, and/or how to cancel your autorenewal.
    • Your credit card will be charged 9 days prior to the end of your subscription term, unless you cancel your subscription prior to that time.
    • Digital subscriptions are non-refundable. Even if you cancel the automatic renewal of your subscription, your access continues until the end of your then-current subscription term. Print subscriptions may be eligible for a pro-rated refund on issues remaining.

    Payment

    • Subscriptions must be prepaid in full before being activated.
    • Subscriptions begin with the next available issue after receipt of payment. Requests to back-start a subscription will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis; approval is not assured.
    • For a two-year subscription, you may double the rates on the rate sheet.
    • Subscriptions to AFP and FPM outside the U.S. must be paid in U.S. currency; checks made payable to “AAFP”; and written on a U.S. bank.

    • Subscribers outside the U.S. are liable for value added or similar tax or charges in addition to the subscription fee.
    • Residents of Kansas must add 9.1% sales tax.
    • Airmail is available for an additional $140 per year for AFP; $75 for FPM.

    Claims

    • Claims for missing or damaged back issues are limited to the previous 4 months for U.S. addresses, the previous 4 months for addresses outside the U.S.
    • Missing issues claimed outside the specified time periods may be purchased at the published per-issue rates. See AFP back issues and FPM back issues.

    Agency Discounts

    • 5% for renewal and new subscriptions.

    Usage Stats

    • Institutional usage stats (page views) are available upon request. Online access must be IP authenticated in order to be tracked.

    Online Access

    • Online access is via IP authentication. When submitting an access issue, please provide a list of the IP addresses that should be on file for your organization and a screen capture of the access issue.

    Admin Accounts

    • Institutional admin accounts are not supported at this time. We are happy to provide usage stats, update IP addresses, or provide other account services upon request.
