    Description

    • Maine Dartmouth Collaborative Care Center (MDCCC) which is the primary outpatient center for plus one residents giving them an opportunity to experience a breadth of disease processes. These include but are not limited to acute and chronic pain syndromes, newborn and pediatric conditions amenable to Osteopathic manipulation, intrapartum and postpartum pain management. It is here that we begin to expand the idea of collaboration between specialties including physical therapy, occupational therapy, pain specialty groups, behavioral specialists as well as alternative and complementary therapies. • A strong medicine curriculum for family medicine residents at Maine Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency (MDFMR) where neuromuscular medicine residents are expected to engage as preceptors. • In hospital experience where Osteopathic attendings cover in-hospital consultations and neuromuscular medicine residents rotate through on a regular basis. • Neuromuscular assessment team (NAT) which is a collaborative assessment team composed of physical therapy, an Osteopathic family physician and a LCSW. This team assesses and gives instruction for care plan recommendations in complex chronic pain patients through MDCCC.
