Description
This is a 12 month fellowship, beginning August 1 of each year carrying salary of aPGY4 resident and benefits provided by UHMP, Inc (University Hospitals MedicalPractices, Inc). The fellowship is a collaboration between UHMP, the Department ofFamily Medicine (Case Medical Center, Cleveland, OH), and the Urgent CareAssociation of America (UCAOA). It is offered to graduates of an accredited FamilyMedicine or Med/Peds program, who wish to further their knowledge base and enhancetheir procedural skills in the fast growing specialty of Urgent Care Medicine. This is thefirst fellowship of its kind to focus on the advance training necessary for a successfulcareer in Urgent Care. There are currently two fellows participating in the currentacademic year and they are available to discuss the program with residents.The fellowship combines clinical rotations and didactic sessions. The focus of thefellowship will be in the Management of Acute Illness and Injury in the Urgent Caresetting. Emphasis will be placed on Orthopedics, Radiology, Trauma Care, Occupationaland Environmental Medicine, Adult and Pediatric Emergencies and DispositionManagement. There will be a longitudinal component in one of our network urgent caresas well as rotations through pertinent specialties. There will be a didactic component andopportunities for teaching and research.
