Description

The MNH Fellowship is designed to provide training for a Family Medicine physician with added skills to function as an independent OB provider in the management of obstetrical patients. The program is designed to teach the fellow to properly assess risk of the pregnancy and determine their role in the management of such patients; the curriculum includes surgical obstetrical training, complete prenatal, antenatal, intra-partum, and postpartum care. It is also designed to teach them with added skills in the assessment of newborns and in the initial management of unstable newborns that may need increased monitoring, treatment and assistance from NICU. The fellow will be taught to identify these newborns and participate in the initial assessment and assist in the stability of these newborns and transfer to higher level of care. They are junior faculty members of our residency program and will precept and round with the residents and medical students.
