    Description

Now considering candidates for the 2025-2026 year! For more than 40 years, the Tallahassee Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program (TMH FMRP) has attracted students from across the country and beyond our borders to train as primary care physicians. Since 1979, this program has also offered additional training in operative obstetrics. Fellows will gain proficiency in cesarean delivery, tubal ligations, OB triage, high-risk obstetrical care, ultrasound, and (if desired) procedural gynecology including colposcopy, LARC counseling/insertion/removal, etc. In addition to our three surgical fellows we are now offering a one year nonsurgical position, focusing on outpatient prenatal care, nonoperative deliveries, public health and advocacy. Fellows function as part of a multidisciplinary team with OB/GYN physicians, FM/OB physicians, midwives, residents, and students and will be involved in resident/student education. Our patient population hails from a mix of urban and rural communities from Tallahassee and the surrounding areas of Florida’s big bend, crossing boundaries of ethnicity and socio-economic class. We take pride especially in providing compassionate care to the marginalized of these communities. Graduates of the fellowship continue to practice family medicine with obstetrics (including cesarean section privileges) as residency faculty and private practice providers in rural and urban settings. Please visit our website or contact us for further information including how to apply. Please contact dave.dewall@tmh.org with questions. Looking forward to hearing from you!
