Our residency program, located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, combines the best of community and academic training to provide our residents a comprehensive and innovative training experience. International elective opportunities abound with previously established and resident-arranged international sites.

Field experience
Residents have the opportunity to schedule a one-month international elective during the third year of residency. Field, clinic and hospital experience varies widely based on the needs of the communities served and resident interest.
Didactics
There are travel medicine lectures included in the residency curriculum with regional lectures provided by residents and faculty upon their return from international experiences.

Additional cost information
Internal endowment funding is available to all residents through an application process. All resident travel and lodging expenses have been funded through this endowment over the last several years.
