Description

Phelps Family Medicine Residency Program is a relatively new program established in 2011 with a mission to develop family medicine leaders for New York and beyond via partnership and innovation. Residents are trained in an award winning FQHC and community hospital and graduates have attended a variety of fellowships, oupatient/inpatient positions of their choice.

Field experience

All interns travel to the Dominican Republic for one week during their community medicine rotation in January where they are introduced to the culture and medical practices of the people we serve primarily in our Family Medicine Center/FQHC.

Didactics

All activities are experiential learning experiences with guided reflection occurring afterwards.

Additional cost information

The program has been able to cover all expenses for resident participation in global experiences to date.
