Field experience
One month is spent overseas in a location of the resident's choice in second and third years of residency. Up to three months is spent overseas in fourth year. Weekend mission trips to Mexico may occur throughout the residency. Local involvement with underserved multicultural community clinics provides a nearby "learning lab" for service and strategies to meet community needs with limited resources.
