Program Description

Longest established U of Washington affiliated, community hospital-based program in Pierce County with only Family Medicine residencies in town. Our mission is teaching Family Medicine for full-spectrum compassionate care to communities in need. Training is rich in OB-including high risk and operative; peds; and procedures. Our EMR is Epic. Rural OB Family Medicine Fellowship complements residency. Great setting on Puget Sound with access to both city life and Pacific NW outdoors. In 2017, TFM received formal Osteopathic Recognition. In 2022, we will begin recruiting for our newly accredited Rural Training Program in Omak, WA (1st year in Tacoma, final 2 years in Omak) as well.
