    Program Description

    Tyler is a community-based, medical school affiliated program in a dynamic city of 100,000+. One-on-one training with numerous board-certified specialists. Abundant procedures. Strong ER/trauma/OB training in multiple settings, including Level 1 trauma center. Sports Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Obesity Medicine, and Hospice/Palliative Medicine tracks with a sports medicine fellowship. Vigorous didactics. Energetic faculty and outstanding residents. Six elective rotations provide flexible curriculum for individualized training. Suburban/rural/underserved patient mix. Safe, family friendly program and community. Moonlighting allowed beyond PGY1 year. Excellent benefits including resident health care coverage with option for dependents. Executive MBA with healthcare focus and MPH available. We are now part of the UT Tyler School of Medicine, the only medical school in northeast Texas.
