Description
The Wright State University Family Medicine Residency Program continues its long standing commitment to community-based education. The residency combines a rich tradition of family medicine with exposure to: a range of clinical services seldom found outside academic medical centers a comprehensive variety of medical disciplines a diverse patient population an active inpatient service continuity patients in the Five Rivers Family Health Center a Federally Qualified Health Center faculty with expertise in sports medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, psychology, geriatrics, hospitalist practice and pharmacology. The result is a unique blend: the services and attitudes seen at community hospitals, and the educational experiences often available only at university medical centers. The WSU Family Medicine Residency Program trains residents to excel in their roles as concerned, competent physicians who function well in the full realm of family medicine, whether in inpatient or outpatient, rural or urban settings.
