Description
Ideal candidates for our program have the following characteristics: 1) a passion to become an excellent family physician poised for leadership in the future of health care in the United States, 2) a strong work ethic, 3) an ability to work well within teams, 4) a thirst for education and self-motivation to become life-long learners, and 5) an ability to have fun and bring joy to others. Our program strives to create a nurturing learning environment that emphasizes excellence, evidence-based medicine, high quality patient care, diversity, teamwork, scholarship, and leadership. We offer training at two clinical sites with an emphasis toward community and service. We offer opportunities for residents to pursue advance degrees during their residency, such as an MPH or MBA. We offer longitudinal and international rotations. We practice in a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH Level 3). Opportunities abound for leadership, scholarship, and interdisciplinary collaboration. We are an Academic Medical Center with a Community Emphasis.
