Program Description
The Self Regional Healthcare Family Medicine Residency program is located in beautiful Greenwood, South Carolina. Greenwood is located in the beautiful lakelands area which affords many outdoor recreational activities. It is located near the mountains and the beach is a short drive away. The program is a 10-10-10 program that is recognized for graduating full scope family physicians who practice with compassion and excellence. The program's curriculum has helped achieve a 100% board pass rate over 30+ years. Residents have the opporunity to participate in several specialty tracks which include sports medicine, international medicine, obstetrics, and underserved medicine. The program has one year accredited Sports Medicine fellowship. Residents enjoy a starting bonus, 15 days of paid time off per year, five days of CME with travel allowance, hospital provided electronics (iPhone, iPad, laptop), and travel stipend for international electives. The residents also have a yearly expense paid retreat. The cost of living in Greenwood is very reasonable. The hospital is located directly across the street from the family medicine center. The average temperature in Greenwood is 68 degrees.
