    Program Description

    Riverside Family Medicine Residency, located in beautiful, historic Newport News, Virginia, was established in 1971 and is one of the oldest family medicine residency programs in the country. We are a fully accredited ACGME program with Osteopathic Recognition and affiliated with Virginia Commonwealth University and Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. This relationship with an allopathic and osteopathic medical school, allows us to teach the full spectrum of family medicine. Our emphasis on information technology allows us to provide the highest quality care for our patients and the greatest access to evidence-based research for our residents. Our strong collegial atmosphere is a unique trademark of the Riverside Family Medicine Residency Program.
