Family Medicine at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center We are fortunate to be able to combine the strengths of being both a community program-the Jewell in the Crown and safety net for women, children, homeless, HIV, elderly, disabled, in SouthEast Baltimore County…and a member of MedStar Health a huge not for profit system in the Baltimore/ DC area that includes 8 teaching hospitals from Georgetown to Franklin Square Medical Center. With the busiest ED in Maryland, integrated faculty for patient care, teaching and research with OB and Pediatrics, MedStar Research Institute, Sports Medicine fellowships within MedStar, a strong relationship with the NE regional STFM, Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine at Johns Hopkins, proximity to the NIH, Graham Center, Kennedy Krieger Institute, an affiliation with the University of Maryland, student rotations and FMIG activities with JHU and the University of Maryland…the opportunities to be trained for careers from solo rural or urban micro practices, academic medicine, combined ED tracks, preventive medicine and public health, and obstetrics are here. We are looking for the strengths that you will bring to our program, because the program serves not only our patients, but the doctors we train to build healthy communities.
