Program Description

Mayaguez Medical Center are happy to announce that on July 1, 2012 they started a Family Medicine Residency Program. Our hospital is located in the western area of Puerto Rico. Our program was approved by the ACGME for three years and our program will have six residents each year. We have a group of well-educated and experiences physicians to create an educational environment and show support to our residents. Our residents will have as a requirement to participate in Scientific Research Project during their three year program; we help and give them the necessary tools to accomplish their goals. The Residents will also be exposed to important areas of patient care such as pediatrics, teens, adult and geriatric medicine. Our goal is to teach the residents to become the best Family Medicine Physician they can be.
