Program Description
We are a 3-year ACGME accredited residency based in Missoula and Kalispell, MT. Missoula is the core program and Kalispell is a 1:2 track with residents spending the first year in Missoula and second two years in Kalispell. It is our mission to train residents to provide high quality care in rural and underserved settings in Montana. The program is sponsored by the University of Montana and our family medicine centers are located in community health centers in Missoula and Kalispell. Our inpatient rotations take place at Providence St. Patrick Hospital and Community Medical Center in Missoula and Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell. We offer Rural Intensive, American Indian Health, Reproductive Health, and Obstetrics tracks and our longitudinal curriculum includes POCUS, wilderness medicine, LGBTQ+ health, and refugee health. Our program has a rural network of 15+ rural training sites across western Montana.
