Program Description
Residents who want to practice family medicine using the latest care delivery models will want to consider Novant Health's fully accredited (ACGME & ACGME Osteopathic Recognition) residency program. The Novant Health Family Medicine Residency Program and our patient-centered curriculum will develop practitioners who are committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care for all members of the family. Residents complete three years of extensive training in the north Charlotte/Lake Norman area, with rotations in community clinics as well as Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center, Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center and Hemby Children's Hospital, three of our acute care facilities. In many instances, residents experience how we provide care differently. Novant Health, well-known in healthcare as an industry leader, is pioneering population health with coordinated care key to the model's success. Our residents will be part of an integrated team that includes other providers, as well as support team of nurses, pharmacists, social workers, dietitians, health coaches and referral coordinators, who will partner with patients to encourage wellness and preventive care while also managing existing conditions to slow or reverse the progression of disease. This is truly an opportunity to see how the practice of family medicine is changing to meet the needs of the patient and the community.
