Program Description

The Family Medicine Residency team at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center, believes in providing care for the entire family while fostering the individual interests of our residents. That is why our Family Medicine Residency Program is an ideal opportunity for residents to care for patients. The Cobb County area, especially Marietta, is filled with patients that fall under every medical discipline that a family physician would treat everyday. The residents in this program will see patients from pediatrics to geriatrics, providing an ever-evolving work experience. The 36 month curriculum was designed with the experience of the resident in mind, including both educational experience and overall wellbeing. Residents in the program will gain experience in nearly every specialty, while simultaneously maintaining continuity in the clinic and providing ongoing care to our outpatient and inpatient pediatric and adult populations. In addition to providing a well-rounded medical education, we strive to support our residents in learning the business of medicine and to provide residents with the tools necessary to effectively run a medical office. The strength of the Kennestone Family Medicine Residency Program is in the collaboration of multiple physicians with a range of specialties, helping residents to make connections and to develop skills needed to care for patients within multiple modalities. Residents in the program will be exposed to a diverse set of clinical orientations and specialties, and will be encouraged to develop a unique and individual style of practice.
