The AAFP Foundation advances the values of family medicine through humanitarian, educational, and scientific philanthropy dedicated to improving health.
Time commitment away from residency: Approximately 15-18 days (includes weekends) for travel and attendance at meetings.
Funding: Provided for meeting attendance according to AAFP Foundation guidelines.
Candidates for this position run for office and are elected at the AAFP National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students July 29-31, 2021. Candidates should plan to attend the virtual conference, and be available for candidate orientation July 28, 2021, at 7 p.m. CDT, and a candidate forum (speeches and elections) July 30, 2022, at 6 p.m. CDT. Candidates are required to deliver a 2 - 3 minute speech and participate in a Q&A. Election results will be announced August 1, 2021.
Required elements of the application include: Letter of Interest Letter of Chapter Support Faculty Letter, Participation Form (to be signed by dean of medical school), and a Photo.
