It's not too late for family physicians to apply for participation in CMS' Medicare Shared Savings Program(www.cms.gov) and the Advance Payment ACO Model Program, which includes participation in accountable care organizations (ACOs).
To ensure that members have the most current and accurate information on programs that could add significant revenue to their practices, the Academy is inviting all members to join AAFP President Glen Stream, M.D., M.B.I., of Spokane, Wash., on a conference call on Jan. 25 at 7 p.m., EST.
The call will be hosted by the AAFP, CMS, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and the American College of Physicians (ACP). The call-in number is (800) 837-1935; the operator will ask for the conference identification number, which is 45474183.
Stream will be joined on the call by representatives from the AOA and ACP, as well as CMS staff members Mai Pham, M.D., and Maria Alexander, both of whom are intricately involved with shaping the programs.
