The stated purpose of the new MIG is to "provide a forum for pro-life members to collaborate and advance the education of members on beginning and end of life issues within the AAFP."

Academy members who are interested in the objectives of the MIG are invited to visit its webpage and join.

The chair of the Physicians for Life MIG is Sheryl Beard, M.D., and the vice chair is Janet Hurley, M.D. This MIG is overseen by the Commission on Membership and Member Services.

The MIGs give AAFP members a forum where they can network and share ideas. To date, the Board has approved 21 MIGs since the Academy first launched these groups in 2014.

Members who have questions about MIGs are encouraged to email MIG support for more information.
