    FPs Honored at National Minority Quality Forum Summit

    April 28, 2022, 1:11 p.m. News Staff — Two family physicians were among the recipients of the National Minority Quality Forum’s 40 Under 40 Leaders in Health award at the organization’s annual Summit on Health Disparities and Spring Health Braintrust, held April 25-26 in Washington, D.C.

    The family physician winners for 2022 are

    • Chelsea Mooreland, M.D., the founder and CEO of Life Cycle Direct Primary Care, a full-spectrum, membership-based, family-centered primary care practice based in New Albany, Ohio; and
    • Kevin U. Stephens Jr., M.D., M.B.A., senior medical director for the Louisiana and Mississippi markets with Oak Street Health, a nationwide network of senior primary care centers and health clinics.

    This theme of this year’s summit was “Mind Over Matter: Exploring Our Health in the Time of the Pandemic.” The event featured more than a dozen panels and plenary sessions covering topics such as youth mental health, vaccinations for COVID-19 and influenza, obesity in communities of color, and addressing health equity in medically underserved areas.
