Last month, physicians were informed that their 2016 Quality and Resource Use Reports (QRURs) were ready for review.
And now, CMS is urging physicians to take advantage of a free 90-minute webcast scheduled for Oct. 19 at 1:30 p.m. EDT to help them with these reviews.
Registration for the event(blh.ier.intercall.com) is now open; it will close at noon EDT the day of the event or when it is full.
Family physicians should be aware that practice data detailed in their reports could be very useful in preparing to participate in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System, which is one of two new payment paths available through the Quality Payment Program.
According to CMS, event moderators will provide an overview of what's in a QRUR and explain how to interpret and use the information. Physicians will get more out of the webcast if they have their QRURs in hand so they can follow along as the moderators present the material.
Physicians who have not already obtained their QRURs should follow CMS directions on how to access the reports,(www.cms.gov) which are available for all group and solo practices.
In addition to learning about QRUR content and reviewing tables that accompany these reports, physicians will also be briefed on how to request an informal review if they think a miscalculation has occurred in their 2018 value-based payment modifier adjustment.
CMS will have phone lines available for physicians who are unable to stream audio through their computers.
Note that each registrant will receive a unique URL to join the webcast, so those registering on behalf of a colleague should enter that colleague's information on the registration form so he or she will receive webcast notifications from CMS.
