“Week of Action” underway: Academy members, via online meetings and social media, are lobbying their elected officials to stabilize, strengthen and sustain primary care. Join the fight and make time for an all-member town hall, including members of Congress, at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday, June 3.  

AAFP backs bill to create COVID-19 Racial and Ethnic Disparities Task Force: In a May 28 letter to congressional leaders, the Academy voiced strong support for legislation addressing health inequities that intersect with the pandemic.

Financial Relief

More time to accept PRF money and acknowledge terms: The deadline for physicians to attest Provider Relief Fund payments from HHS has been extended to 90 days from receipt of the payment.

Practice Management

Review contact tracing guidance for family medicine: Contact tracing is a core disease control measure employed by local and state health departments. This guidance from the AAFP outlines contact tracing basics for COVID-19 and how it will impact family medicine practices.


New self-study course looks at health disparities: African American populations are disproportionately impacted by severe cases of COVID-19, a topic covered in the "COVID-19: Special Populations and Demographic Connection" session released June 5.
