After a sports-related concussion, advise patients to rest cognitively and physically for 24 to 48 hours, and to introduce symptom-limited activity after this period.
For management of relative energy deficiency in sport (RED-S), refer patients to a sports dietitian. If patients have RED-S and disordered eating or an eating disorder, also refer to a physician and/or mental health specialist.
Advise adults with diabetes to perform at least 150 min/week or more of moderate-intensity aerobic activity and to incorporate muscle-strengthening activities on 2 or more days/week.
Advise patients with diabetes who use continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion pumps to consider reducing the basal insulin rate between 50% and 80% approximately 90 minutes before exercise.
