Starting with this issue, you can read FPM on your Kindle, Palm, Blackberry, iPhone, iPod Touch or other mobile device as well as on the computer (in two different formats) and in print. As you can see, we're trying to make FPM as convenient as it is helpful.

FPM in print is the most convenient format for most people. The obvious disadvantage is that a subscription costs money (see https://www.aafp.org/fpm/subscribe for information on AAFP member discounts). On the other hand, those who subscribe to the journal probably read more of FPM just because the print version can go with them anywhere. They're likely to benefit more from the journal because they miss fewer tips – and one good coding tip could pay for a subscription. For subscribers who aren't AAFP members, a print subscription also comes with CME credit. (Members can earn CME credit from FPM online without subscribing.)

The FPM web site (https://www.aafp.org/fpm) may be the most useful format in that it provides access to many years of back issues. Except for the most recent 12 months of content, it's freely available; more recent content on the web site – and the ability to earn CME credit online – are available only to AAFP members and print subscribers.

The digital edition (https://www.aafp.org/fpm/digitalissue), not to be confused with the FPM web site, is also designed for viewing on the computer screen. The digital edition displays an image of the issue as it looks in print and has the advantage of being available to anyone free of charge. You can sign up at https://www.aafp.org/fpm/digitalfpm to have the table of contents delivered regularly by e-mail and just link from the e-mail to the issue in either online format – the digital edition or the web site.

The mobile edition, the newest version of FPM, is almost as portable as print; it allows you to read a text-only version of FPM on any mobile device with a web browser wherever you have a wireless or cellular signal. iPhone and iTouch users can switch between the easy-to-read text-only view and a view that shows what the issue looks like in print, including tables and illustrations. Following the link for the digital edition (https://www.aafp.org/fpm/digitalissue) will automatically get you the mobile version right for your device.
