Am Fam Physician. 2008;77(5):576

The Academy's branding initiative was described in this column in the January 1, 2008, issue. A segment of this campaign involves redesigning the Web site to feature the new seal and depict the Academy's position as the “bold champion” for family physicians. The new design of the American Family Physician Web site features enhanced navigation and an improved overall look (https://www.aafp.org/afp).

The main AFP page (the draft design is shown below) now includes access to the current issue in the center and AFP navigation on the left side, which is more in line with Web standards. You can search AFP directly from the search box shown on the left side. The links under the menu on the left side will take you to other sections of the AFP Web site, such as the CME Quiz or the Authors' Guide. Once you open an AFP article, you'll see other tools: you can e-mail a link to the article, download the PDF, and open a printer-friendly version. Related resources, including other AFP articles on that topic, are also found here. When you are viewing an AFP article, access to that issue's table of contents can be found under the banner in the center section.

The new design also provides navigation to various sections of the Academy's main Web site with the tabs across the top of the page. The search box in the upper right corner will search the entire Academy site.

We hope you'll be pleased with the new design and the implementation of new Web site technology, which will both continue to evolve over time. Please let us know what you think by sending us an e-mail at afpedit@aafp.org. We look forward to your comments and suggestions.
