1. For children placed in a foster home, conduct a visit within 72 hours of placement, a comprehensive health care visit within 30 days of placement, and a follow-up visit within 60 to 90 days of placement. At these visits, monitor children for signs of abuse or neglect; evaluate how well the children are adjusting to the foster home; determine whether there is need for referrals, medical equipment, or drugs; and support and educate the adult members of the families.
