• One simple question can uncover medication nonadherence

Asking patients “How often do you miss taking your medication?” is an effective way to identify issues with medication adherence. It also allows for a nonconfrontational and nonjudgmental conversation about patient compliance and barriers to adherence. Furthermore, it acknowledges human error. With these issues out in the open, my patients and I can then work together to generate personalized solutions.”
