Menopause is an important stage of life for women, with a variety of accompanying physical and hormonal changes. And recently, perimenopause has also become a trending topic of discussion on social media for women in their 40s—but not everything being shared online is accurate.

Family physicians have an opportunity to step into these common women’s health topics to provide guidance and knowledge during a period of transition. This perimenopause and menopause CME course is designed to equip medical professionals confidently address these topics in patient care and translate social media buzz into evidence-based guidance. Topics include:

    • Onset and signs of perimenopause

    • Managing menopause

    • Common symptoms like hot flashes, brain fog and more

    • Long-term risks like osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease and cancer

    • Nutrition and exercise, trauma-informed care and stress management
