• New Leaders Elected at 2024 NCCL

    April 23, 2024, News Staff — Delegates elected several new family physician leaders at the 2024 National Conference of Constituency Leaders, which met April 18-20 in Kansas City, Mo.

    Those elected include

    AAFP Board of Directors new physician member candidate: Cynthia Chen-Joea, D.O., M.P.H., C.P.H., FAAFP of Lakewood, Calif. (Note: This candidate is to be approved by the 2024 Congress of Delegates.)

    New Physician alternate delegates to the AAFP Congress of Delegates: Robert Assibey, M.D., of French Camp, Ga.; and Tabatha Davis, M.D., FAAFP, of Lynchburg, Va.

    Member constituency alternate delegates to the AAFP Congress of Delegates: Frank Animikwam, M.D., of Petoskey, Mich; Kethelyne Beauvais, M.D., of Northfield, Ohio; Shruti Javali, M.D., of Visalia, Calif.; C. Peony Khoo, M.D., of Los Angeles; Toussaint Mears-Clarke, M.D., M.B.A., FAAFP, of Sacramento, Calif; and Jiana Menendez, M.D., M.P.H., FAAFP, of New York.

    The member constituency alternate delegates represent the following constituency groups: women; minorities; international medical graduates; and LGBTQ+ physicians or physicians who support LGBTQ issues.

    2025 NCCL Convener: Delicia Pruitt, M.D., M.P.H., FAAFP, of Bay City, Mich.

    2025 member constituency co-conveners: Javali and Kento Sonoda, M.D., FASAM, AAHIVS, of Saint Louis, Mo. (IMG constituency); Joseph Laterza, M.D., of Greenville, S.C.; and Mears-Clarke. (LGBTQ+ constituency); Khoo and Menendez (women’s constituency); Animikwam and Beauvais (minority constituency); and Assibey and Davis (new physician constituency).
