Required Actions to Attend

1. Request an Invitation

Please email your request to the American Academy of Family Physicians’ Member Resource Center with the following information:

  • Full name
  • Designation
  • Place of employment
  • Status (student, resident, faculty, practicing physician)
  • Email address
  • Name of AAFP event you want to attend

2. Apply for a Visa

Visit the US State Department’s Visitor Visa website to get started. 

Plan ahead—Visa appointment and processing wait times vary between US embassies.

Stay up to date—Locate your closest US embassy or consulate for the fastest and most accurate information.

3. Review Entry Requirements

A visa does not guarantee admission into the United States. Before you travel, review these entry requirements.

4. Reserve a Hotel Room

The AAFP offers discounted rates in multiple hotels located close to the convention center. You can select your room while registering for FMX
