MIPS feedback reports for 2018 now available
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has released feedback reports for the 2018 Quality Payment Program (QPP) performance year. The reports contain performance and final score information for practices that reported to the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) in 2018.
Individual clinicians, groups, and Merit-based Incentive Payment System Alternative Payment Model (MIPS APM) entities can login to the QPP Portal to access the reports. A HCQIS Access Roles and Profile (HARP) account is required to login to the portal. CMS has created a new “Clinician Role” that lets individual clinicians access MIPS performance feedback for all their practices, virtual groups, and APM entities. The reports contain feedback related to a clinician’s (or group’s) 2018 MIPS performance. That feedback includes the 2018 final score, 2020 MIPS payment adjustment, and final performance category scores and weights. In addition, clinicians will have access to detailed scoring and performance information for each performance category. CMS has also provided data showing emergency department utilization broken down by attributed beneficiary. CMS has also created a performance feedback "frequently asked questions" (FAQs) document that walks clinicians through how to understand their reports.
If you feel there has been an error in your final score or feedback, you can request a targeted review through the QPP Portal. Requests must be submitted by Sept. 30. Targeted review determinations are final and cannot be appealed.
