CMS releases software fix for issue that could affect eCQM scores

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released updated database files to correct an issue that could impact scores for some electronic clinical quality measures (eCQM) for the 2020 performance period. The issue only affects eligible clinicians who use Expression Logical Model filetypes. For those users, it could alter scores on three measures if certain time values are not in the input data, causing an erroneous evaluation that may result in an increase or decrease of cases that fall in the measure populations.

The three impacted measures are:

  • CMS128v8 Anti-depressant Medication Management
  • CMS146v8 Appropriate Testing for Children with Pharyngitis
  • CMS56v8 Functional Status Assessment for Total Hip Replacement

More information from CMS and access to the corrected files can be found in the eCQI Resource Center.
