Medicare resolves beneficiary entitlement date errors

Following up on an item shared earlier this month, Medicare has resolved its issue with beneficiary entitlement date errors causing incorrect claim denials. Last week, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services approved a corrective process for impacted Medicare Part-B claims, including those filed by physicians.

Medicare administrative contractors (MACs) will reprocess previously denied Part-B claims affected by this issue. The MACs began reprocessing claims and making adjustments early last week. Physicians and others who file Part-B claims don’t need to take any further action.
