Is your EHR slowing you down?

Many of the time-consuming aspects of electronic health record (EHR) use are beyond your control, but Jay Winner, MD, suggests three steps you can take today to help you speed things up:

1. Use semicolons and paragraph returns to build separate phrases instead of writing full sentences.

2. Commit to 10 minutes a day of typing practice using sites such as https://www.typing.com/ or https://www.typingclub.com/.

3. Use templates for common conditions or treatments. See https://stressremedy.com/resources-for-primary-care-providers/, or ask your colleagues if they have templates to share.
