Three questions to ask before making a major change

Doctors are constantly having to adjust to changes mandated by third-party payers and regulatory agencies. So before adding any more major changes on top of those, David A. Lynch, MD, the former medical director and vice president at Family Care Network in Bellingham, Wash., recommends asking three essential questions:
- Will the change ease the work burden for our overloaded physicians?
- Will the change lead to measurable improvement in quality or convenience for the people we serve?
- Is there a revenue stream to support the work involved in this change?
Asking those questions before instituting a change can help physicians and staff stay positive and united.
